Pairing is an effective training technique in Scent Work where a treat is placed directly with a target odor hide, allowing the dog to instaneously self-reward upon finding the hide. The following question oftentimes arises..."When can I fade the pairing?" However, this prompts us to posit, whether we SHOULD be fading the pairing when we are training our dogs?
In this 90-minute webinar, we delve into whether one SHOULD fade pairing of target odor hides in training and if this was done, when and how to go about doing so.
