Introducing Clove Course
Regular price $230.00Your dog is proficient in locating both Birch and Anise hides in all the elements (Interior, Exterior, Vehicle and Container), well done! You are now ready to introduce a third odor to your dog: Clove. In this 6-week online course, we will ensure your dog loves Clove as much as they enjoy finding Birch and Anise. Get ready to have a great time!
Course Details
With your dog understanding the value of locating novel odors, the process of introducing Clove is fairly simple. However, we do need to ensure that we neither rush the process nor neglect the progress our dog has made, and should continue to make, in their finding of the Birch and Anise hides.
In this vein, we will be tackling two learning pathways in this course: one will concentrate on introducing Clove, ensuring the dog finds this to be valuable and can locate it in the various search areas.
The second pathway will involve increasing the difficulty of the Birch and Anise hides, with their placement, odor concentration and fading of the pairing technique.
All of this will ensure the dog loves to find Clove as much as Birch and Anise, and that they will have developed the skills to locate harder hides in trickier search areas. By using the K9 Nose Work® training methodology, not only are we preparing you and your dog to succeed at NACSW™ trials, but we are giving you the tools to succeed with any Scent Work competition organization!
As if all THAT were not enough, we will stretching your dog by testing their confidence, independence in hunting, introducing how to deal with distractors, blank areas and running semi-blind searches.
